Let’s look at more examples using questions words in the simple past time. Note the word order in questions with did.

Did + Subject + Verb in base form
Did you meet Peter?
Where did you meet him?
What did you tell him?
Why did Darla go home early?
What time did she leave?
Did she tell you anything?
Did you go shopping?
Where did you go?
What did you buy?
How much did you spend?
What time did you get home?
Did you have lunch?
What did you have for lunch?
