20.1 Asking questions using did

To find out if an action happened in the past, we make questions using the word did. Did is the past form of do. It tells us it is the simple past time. Let’s look at some examples:

Did + subject + verb (base form)
1 Did you sleep well?
2 Did Suzy call you?
3 Did Nadia like her present?
4 Did you go to school today?
5 Did you speak to your teacher?
6 Did you
enjoy your holiday?
7 Did Adam say anything?
8 Did you read the newspaper today?
9 Did you watch Avatar?
10 Did you enjoy the movie?
