15.3 Asking questions with do and does

When we ask a question using do or does in the simple present time, the verb stays in its base form. We use does for a 3rd person singular.
Questions are formed when we add do and does at the beginning of a statement. Here are some examples:


Negative statement Question
I do not look like my dad. Do I look like my dad?
We do not look alike. Do we look alike?
You do not speak to strangers. Do you speak to strangers?
They do not play football. Do they play football?
He does not speak Italian. Does he speak Italian?
She does not wear glasses. Does she wear glasses?
Your dog does not bite. Does your dog bite?
