14.2 Actions that people and things do

 

We use the simple present time when we talk about something that is true and will remain true for a long time.

 

If you are talking about yourself, you talk about things which are true, like your name and age etc. We use the simple present time to talk about facts.

For example, Sarah is telling us about herself. She speaks in the simple present time.

 

1st person singular & 3rd person plural Verbs in simple present time
1 My name is Sarah. is
2 I am the second child. am
3 I have a sister and a brother. have
4 My mom and dad are teachers. are
5 I live in an apartment. live
6 I love comics and cartoons. love
7 I have a cat. have
8 I do not have a dog. do not have
9 My favourite food is chicken. is
10 I like strawberry ice cream. like
